Enjoy the performance of the Cuban-born virtuoso Alí Arango in the Palau de la Música Catalana, in Barcelona.
The Paraguayan-born guitar-player and composer Agustín Barrios passed away in El Salvador in 1944, shortly after publishing one of his most famous compositions. Yet, he didn’t have enough time to give it a title. Último Trémulo (Last Tremulo), Una limosna por el amor de Dios (Alms for the Love of God), Último Canto (Last Song)… It actually doesn’t really matter how people call it. It will be forever one of 21st century’s greatest pieces for Spanish guitar, part of the repertoire of some of the today’s most recognized masters, such as David Russell, John Williams and the young virtuoso Alí Arango, who interpreted this masterpiece in his latest performance in the Palau de la Música Catalana, in Barcelona. Worth enjoying it.
